10.7.4. Sensors of a control system of the engine

The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid represents a thermistor (the resistor which resistance changes depending on temperature). The sensor is screwed in the case of the thermostat and connected to EBU. At a low temperature sensor resistance high, and at high temperature — low (tab. 10.5).
EBU counts temperature of cooling liquid on power failure on the sensor. On the cold engine power failure high, and on warmed up — low.

Temperature of cooling liquid influences the majority of characteristics which are operated by EBU.
For replacement of the sensor you will need a key "on 19".
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Partially merge cooling liquid from a radiator.
3. For convenience of work remove the air filter (see. "Removal and installation of the air filter").
4. Wring out a plastic clamp...
5.... also disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid.
6. Weaken a key a sensor inhaling...
7.... also turn out it from the thermostat case.
8. Cool the sensor up to the air temperature. Connect a tester in the ohmmeter mode to conclusions of the sensor and measure its resistance. Take the thermometer the current air temperature and compare the received values to tab. 10.5. At resistance deviation from norm replace the sensor.
9. For measurement of resistance on sensor conclusions at various temperature conditions lower the sensor in hot water and check change of its resistance in process of water cooling, controlling water temperature the thermometer. Nominal rates of resistance at various values of temperature are specified in tab. 10.5.
10. Install the sensor as it should be, the return to removal.
11. Fill in cooling liquid.
The detonation sensor attached to the top part of the block of cylinders catches abnormal vibrations (detonation blows) in the engine.
Sensitive element of the sensor is the pyezokristallichesky plate. At emergence of a detonation at the exit of the sensor tension impulses which increase with increase in intensity of detonation blows are generated. EBU on a signal of the sensor regulates an ignition advancing for elimination of detonation flashes of fuel.
For replacement of the sensor you will need a key "on 13".
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Press a metal clamp of a block of a plait of wires...
3.... also disconnect a block from the detonation sensor. For descriptive reasons the hose of ventilation of crankcase gases is removed.
4. Weaken a key an inhaling of a bolt of fastening of the sensor of a detonation...
5.... and, having turned out a hand a bolt, remove it together with the detonation sensor.

Note
Pay attention to marking of the sensor that for replacement to buy the similar sensor of a detonation.

6. Install the sensor upside-down, having screwed a bolt of its fastening and having tightened the moment 10,4–24,2 N · m.
The Sensor of a Mass Consumption of Air (SMCA) is located between the air filter and airbringing a sleeve.
The signal of the sensor represents tension of a direct current which value depends on amount of the air passing through the sensor.
The air temperature sensor which sensitive element is the thermistor established in an air stream is built in DMRV. At a low temperature sensor resistance high, and at high temperature — low (tab. 10.6).

If the sensor of air temperature is faulty, EBU brings an error code in memory and includes an alarm lamp, and replaces indications of the faulty sensor with the fixed value of the air temperature of 33 °C.
For replacement of the sensor it will be required to you: a key "on 10", the screw-driver with a crosswise edge.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Having wrung out from below the screw-driver or a finger a plastic latch...
3.... disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor of a mass consumption of air.
4. Weaken an inhaling of a collar of fastening of the airbringing sleeve...
5.... also disconnect a sleeve from the sensor.
6. Unscrew two screws of fastening...
7.... also remove the sensor from the air filter.
8. Take rubber laying and attentively examine a condition of its edges as their damage can lead to an air suction bypassing the air filter. During the movement air contains a set of the small mechanical particles capable to damage DMRV and, as a result, to lead to interruptions in operation of the engine.
9. Before installation of the sensor at first put on it rubber sealing laying and only then fix the sensor on the air filter.
The sensor of speed of the car is installed on the transmission. At rotation of driving wheels the sensor of speed develops 6 impulses on 1 m of a run of the car, and EBU determines the speed of the movement of the car on the frequency of giving of impulses.
For replacement of the sensor you will need a key "on 10".
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Wring out a clamp...
3.... also disconnect a block with wires from the speed sensor.
4. Turn off a nut of a hairpin of fastening of the sensor of speed...
5.... also take out the sensor from the transmission case.
6. Install the sensor as it should be, the return to removal.
The Sensor of Provision of a Butterfly Valve (SPBV) is established sideways on throttle knot and connected with an axis of a butterfly valve. It represents a potentiometer on which one end moves "plus" supply voltages (5 V), other its end is connected to "weight". From the third conclusion of a potentiometer (from the toddler) there is an output signal to EBU. When the butterfly valve turns (from impact on a pedal of management), tension at the exit of the sensor changes. At the closed butterfly valve it is lower than 0,6 Century. When the gate opens, tension at the exit of the sensor increases and at completely open gate the output tension of the sensor has to make more than 4,4 V. Otslezhivaya, EBU corrects supply of fuel depending on the angle of opening of a butterfly valve (i.e. at the request of the driver). DPDZ does not demand adjustment as the electronic block perceives idling (i.e. full closing of a butterfly valve) as a zero mark.
At failure of the sensor of a butterfly valve of EBU brings a code of malfunction of the sensor in memory, includes an alarm lamp "CHECK the ENGINE" and counts estimated value of an angle of opening of a butterfly valve on the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft and a signal of DMRV.
For replacement of the sensor it is necessary to execute the following.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Wring out a clamp...
3.... also disconnect a block of a plait of wires from sensor conclusions.
4. Turn out two screws of fastening...
5.... also remove the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve from throttle knot.
6. Install the sensor as it should be, the return to removal. Pay attention to a condition of a sealing porolonovy ring: if it is damaged, replace it new.
The Idling Regulator (IR) regulates the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft in the idling mode, operating amount of the given air bypassing the closed butterfly valve. It consists of the bipolar step electric motor and the conical valve connected to it. The valve moves forward or cleans up on EBU signals. Completely put forward regulator needle (that there correspond 0 steps) blocks an air stream. When the needle is moved, the air consumption proportional to quantity of steps of withdrawal of a needle from a saddle is provided.
Replacement of RHH is described in section 5 "Engine" (see. "Replacement of the regulator of idling", page 134).
The sensor of provision of a bent shaft of inductive type, is intended for measurement of frequency of rotation and the provision of a bent shaft. The sensor is installed on a cover of the oil pump opposite to the setting disk on a generator drive pulley. The setting disk represents a cogwheel with 58 equidistanted (6 °) hollows. At such step 60 teeths are located on a disk, two teeth are cut off for creation of an impulse of synchronization (a "basic" impulse) which is necessary for coordination of operation of the controller with VMT of pistons in the 1st and 4th cylinders.
At rotation of a bent shaft teeths change magnetic field of the sensor, directing impulses of tension of alternating current. The adjusting gap between the core of the sensor and tooth of a disk has to be in limits (1±0,2) mm. EBU on signals of the sensor gives impulses on nozzles.
For replacement of the sensor you will need a key "on 10".

2. Wring out a clamp...
3.... also disconnect a block with wires from the sensor of provision of a bent shaft.
4. Turn out a fastening bolt...
5.... also take out the sensor from an arm of its fastening.
6. Measure sensor resistance. Resistance of the serviceable sensor has to be 500–700 Ohms. If indications of a tester are much lower, then probably in a winding mezhvitkovy short circuit and if, on the contrary, high or the tester shows infinity (see a photo), then in contacts in the sensor the contact is broken or there was a break in a winding of the induction coil. Both in the first and in the second case the sensor is subject to replacement.
7. Install the sensor as it should be, the return to removal.
The operating sensor of concentration of oxygen is used in system of injection of fuel with feedback and is installed in the top part of a katkollektor. For correction of calculations of duration of impulses of injection information on availability of oxygen in the fulfilled gases is used, this information is issued by the operating sensor of concentration of oxygen. The oxygen which is contained in the fulfilled gases reacts with the oxygen sensor, creating potential difference at the sensor exit. It changes approximately from 0,1 B (high content of oxygen — poor mix) to 0,9 B (not enough oxygen — rich mix).
For normal work temperature of the sensor has to make not below 300 °C. Therefore for bystry warming up after launch of the engine the heating element is built in the sensor.
Tracing the output tension of the sensor of concentration of oxygen, the controller defines what team on correction of composition of working mix to give on nozzles. If mix poor (low potential difference at the sensor exit), then the controller gives the command for mix enrichment; if mix rich (high potential difference) - on mix impoverishment.
For replacement of the operating sensor of concentration of oxygen you will need a key "on 22".
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Wring out a clamp...
3.... also disconnect a block of a plait of wires of the operating sensor of concentration of oxygen from a motor plait.
4. Disconnect from a heat-insulating guard of the steering mechanism the holder of a plait of wires of the operating sensor of concentration of oxygen.
5. Turn out the sensor from a katkollektor...
6.... also remove from the car.

Note
For removal of the sensor use the special six-sided strengthened keys. They can look as cap keys or to be in the form of a high face head with the cutting sector for threading of a plait of wires in it.

7. Install the sensor as it should be, the return to removal, previously having greased a carving part of the sensor with graphitic lubricant.
The diagnostic sensor of concentration of oxygen is installed in a katkollektor behind converter, works by the same principle, as the operating sensor, and completely with it is interchanged. The signal developed by the diagnostic sensor of concentration of oxygen indicates availability of oxygen in the fulfilled gases after converter. If converter works normally, indications of the diagnostic sensor will differ considerably from testimonies of the managing director of the sensor.
Replacement of the diagnostic sensor of concentration of oxygen is made similar to replacement of the operating sensor.
The sensor of phases is installed on a back cover of the drive of camshafts. The principle of its action is based on Hall's effect. On a pulley of the camshaft (inlet) the setting disk with a special pro-point (ledge) is fixed by spot welding. When the disk passes through a sensor cut, from the sensor on EBU the impulse of tension of low level (about 0 V) arrives, and at hit to the "measuring" area of the sensor of a ledge of the setting disk on EBU there is an impulse of "basic" tension (about 5 V) that corresponds to position of the piston of the 3rd cylinder in a compression step.
For replacement of the sensor of phases you will need a face key "on 10".
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Wring out a clamp...
3.... also disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor of phases.
4. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the sensor...
5.... remove the sensor (the reversing of bolts by Rozhkov a key on the removed and partially disassembled engine is for descriptive reasons shown).
6. Install the sensor as it should be, the return to removal.
The sensor of the uneven road is installed in a motor compartment on a cup of the right mudguard. The principle of operation of the sensor is based on piezoelectric effect. At movement along the uneven road variable loading exerts impact on the angular speed of a bent shaft. Fluctuations of frequency of rotation of a bent shaft are similar to the fluctuations arising at admissions of ignition.
The sensor of the uneven road measures amplitude of fluctuations of a body of the car and gives a signal on the controller. At excess of a threshold of a signal the controller turns off function of diagnostics of admissions of ignition.
For removal of the sensor of the uneven road you will need the screw-driver with a crosswise edge.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Squeeze a spring clamp...
3.... also disconnect a block of a plait of wires from sensor conclusions.
4. Turn out two screws of fastening of the sensor to an arm...
5.... also remove the sensor.
6. Install the sensor as it should be, the return to removal.
