4.3.3. Check of level and a dolivka of brake fluid in a tank of the main brake cylinder

It will be required to you: brake fluid, pure rag.

Useful tips
Type of brake fluid — DOT-3 or DOT-4.
We recommend to check level before each departure and if necessary to add liquid in a tank. If it is necessary to add quite often brake fluid in a tank, immediately eliminate malfunction (see section 9 "Brake system", page 190) or address experts dealer HUNDRED.
When replacing brake fluid in system remember or write down brand of liquid which was filled in that at a dolivka to use the same brand.

The tank is installed on the main brake cylinder before facing of a motor compartment (to the right of a broad tank).

Observe precautionary measures during the work with brake fluid: it is toxic.

Useful tips
In the future not to subject itself to contingencies on repair of the brake system, and even all car in general, in due time replace brake fluid fresh. Brake fluid is very hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the atmosphere that besides emergence of corrosion of details of the brake system lowers temperature of boiling of the liquid, and it can lead to refusal of brakes at frequent intensive braking.
Do not reuse the liquid merged from system!
Hit of brake fluid on wires, the plastic or painted details of a body can cause their damage therefore when filling always enclose pure rags. At hit of brake fluid on these details at once wash away liquid water and wipe their surface a pure rag.

1. Check the level of brake fluid in a tank. It has to be between the tags of "MIN" and "MAX" applied on the tank case.

Liquid level in a tank is traced by the sensor float. If level falls below a tag of "MIN", in a combination of devices the alarm lamp of critical condition of the brake system lights up.

Gradual lowering of the level of brake fluid in the absence of leaks, most likely, indicates replacements of brake shoes the need. Check a condition of brake shoes (see. "Check of degree of wear of brake shoes, disks and drums"). Untimely replacement of blocks leads to expensive repair (replacement of brake disks, drums, supports)!

2. If the level of liquid is lower than a tag of "MIN", turn out a tank stopper with the sensor of an alarm lamp of critical condition of brake fluid which is built in in it and put it on a pure rag.
3. Add brake fluid to a tag of "MAX". Establish a stopper into place.
4. Check operation of the sensor of an alarm lamp of critical condition of the brake system. Include ignition then press the button in a tank stopper. In a combination of devices the alarm lamp has to light up. If the lamp does not light up, address experts as, most likely, the sensor is faulty.
