4.4.7. Check and adjustment of light of headlights

You carry out check and adjustment of light of headlights on the equipped car: with completely filled fuel tank, a set of tools and a spare wheel.
You will need a hexagon "on 6".
1. Previously check and if necessary bring to norm air pressure in tires.

2. Install the car perpendicular to a smooth wall (for example, a garage) at distance of 5 m. Put additional freight weighing 75 kg on the driver's seat. Mark on a wall the screen, as shown in fig. 4.4, and draw on it vertical lines: axial About and the lines A, B passing through the points corresponding to the centers of lamps of passing beam of headlights. These lines have to be symmetric to rather axial line of the car. At height of h corresponding to distance of the centers of headlights from a floor draw a line 1 and below it on 75 mm the line of 2 centers of light spots.
3. Include ignition and passing beam of headlights, turn the handle of the electroproofreader of headlights in situation "0" (this situation corresponds to car loading with one driver).
4. Open a cowl and adjust screws 1 (in the vertical plane) and 2 (in the horizontal plane) manual adjustment of a beam of light the provision of a light spot for each headlight on the screen if the arrangement of light spots on the screen does not correspond to the drawing.
5. Regulate the direction of a light spot for each headlight separately. During adjustment close the second headlight opaque material or disconnect from it a plait of wires.
6. Light of headlights is considered adjusted if the upper bound of the left parts of light spots coincides with the line 2, and vertical lines A and B pass through points of intersection of horizontal and inclined sites of light spots.
