7.2.3. Replacement of the shock-absorber and spring of a back suspension bracket

Elements of a back suspension bracket are so located on the car (the left side is shown, right looks similarly): 1 – shock-absorber of a back suspension bracket; 2 – beam of a back suspension bracket; 3 – rubber-metal hinge.
It will be required to you: keys "on 6", "on 19", a cap key "on 17", a head "on 19".
1. Lift a trunk lid …
2. … also turn off a nut of the top fastening of the shock-absorber a cap key "on 22", holding a shock-absorber rod Rozhkov a key "on 6".
3. Raise a back part of the car, turn off a nut of the lower fastening of the shock-absorber and take out a bolt.
4. Bring the lower end of the shock-absorber out of an arm and remove the shock-absorber with a spring.
5. From within a luggage carrier take out a basic washer.
6. Take out the top pillow from an opening in a support.
7. Remove a spring from the shock-absorber.

11. Examine details of the shock-absorber of a back suspension bracket and if necessary replace …

17. … a spring if on it cracks or deformation of rounds are found. Check spring draft for what three times you prozhmit it before contact of rounds. Then apply load of 3187 N (325 kgfs) to a spring. Length of a spring of N under the specified loading has to be not less than 233 mm (223 mm — for the cars exported). If spring length with white (yellow — for the cars exported) marking (class A) less than 240 mm (230 mm — for the cars exported), replace it with a spring with black marking (green — for the cars exported) (class B). You carry out compression of a spring on a spring axis, and basic surfaces have to correspond to surfaces of basic cups of shock-absorbers and bodies. It is recommended to replace both springs of a back suspension bracket, and springs have to be one group.
18. Collect a rack as it should be, the return to dismantling. At installation of a cover on a casing fill its edge on a cover flange.
19. Establish insulating laying on a spring at first so that the end of a spring rested against a laying ledge. At the same time attach laying to a spring an insulating tape that it did not come off at installation of a spring.
20. Install a spring on the shock-absorber so that its end rested against a ledge of the lower cup.
21. Install the shock-absorber as it should be, the return to removal. At the same time the lower end of a spring has to be turned towards a wheel both on left, and on the right shock-absorber.
22. Finally tighten nuts of the top and lower fastenings of the shock-absorber on the car standing on the earth. Having lowered the car on the earth, several times strongly rock it. Tighten a nut of the lower fastening of the shock-absorber to a beam the moment of 68-84 N · m (6,8–8,4 kgfs · l), a nut of the top fastening of the shock-absorber the moment of 51-63 N · m (5,1–6,3 kgfs · м). Through 100 km of a run once again tighten these threaded connections the required moments.
